one day soon,
these words will
look around them
and realize
their abuse.
upon this sudden
self-realization
of syntax, their
hearts will stir
with anger and
utter disgust.
an occurance of
"demagogue"
will stand up
and shout out
over the crowd:
look around you!
do you see
what heinous and
murderous crimes
have been committed
against you?
do you see
the way that this
so-called author
throws you about
with no regard
to your own feelings?
how many of you
chose your neighbors,
those who obviously
instill no sense
of grammatic cohesion?
then, one by one,
these precious words
will raise themselves
from the page
and point their
most dangerous of
connotations
in my direction.
they shall launch
themselves into my
heart, and tear
into it with their
double-edged
eyes, ohs, and tees.
