AND HE WROTE HER PICTURE -- 7 DECEMBER 2000
i loved the way her feet
didn't touch the ground
as she sat ever so patiently
with her toes pointing down
she didn't even smile
at her very own artistry
but i did although she may
not have noticed in passing
the way a stranger took her in
through her own eyes and his
and in fact what he saw
was something beyond simple
it was the way her jeans fit so
well as they covered her shoes
and the way she kept her coat
zipped up all the way indoors
she must've been so nice and
warm in there by herself
it made him want to laugh, to
return to her years and
to pull his arms into his coat
and hide from the cold
yet she had no idea of this, her
expression bored and beautiful
